Yes. Skilled nursing is offered at St. Ann’s Home in Irondequoit and at St. Ann’s Care Center on our Webster campus.

Do you have assisted living?

Yes, assisted living is offered at St. Ann’s Community at Cherry Ridge on our Webster campus.

What is the difference between skilled nursing and assisted living?

Skilled nursing means 24-hour monitoring by registered nurses for those that need full-time supervision, often as a result of a chronic condition. Skilled nursing   provides needed support and assistance for all activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as walking, bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting.

Assisted living provides residents with the support they need in those same activities of daily living but does not provide the intensive medical and nursing care required in a skilled nursing setting. Assisted living allows residents to maintain their independence in a supportive and caring community.

How do I know if skilled nursing care is right for my loved one?

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Does your loved one require more care and attention than you can provide?
  • Are daily needs such as eating, bathing, and self-medicating being neglected?
  • Has there been an acute injury or illness that your loved one can’t fully recover from?
  • Are there signs of Alzheimer’s disease or dementia?
  • Is your loved one in danger by living alone?
  • Does your loved one need 24-hour care?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, it may be time to consider skilled nursing. For more information, contact our Admissions Department at (585) 697-6311 or admit1@stannscommunity.com.
