Mindfulness Is Topic of First Session in Chapel Oaks Wellness Series
Are you constantly reviewing the past or worrying about the future? Does the bad news and everyday stress of today’s world seem overpowering? Come spend an hour at Chapel Oaks and learn about an ancient practice that empowers individuals to cope with their daily lives.
An interactive session on mindfulness geared toward older adults will take place Tuesday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Community at Chapel Oaks, 1550 Portland Avenue, Irondequoit. It will be led by Sister Mary Lou Mitchell, SSJ PhD RN, Director of Pastoral Care for St. Ann’s Community.
Space is limited. To make a reservation, call (585) 697-6604.
Sister Mary Lou will help participants learn the practice of mindfulness as a powerful tool for living in the present moment with peace and kindness. Mindfulness is learning to be in the moment without judgment and to see reality in a way that helps us know the next step we need to take.
