Spring is God’s way of saying, “One more time!”
– Robert Orben
Although our winter was mild, it’s still a pleasure to welcome the return of spring! Whether you’re most excited about the flowers in bloom, the warmth of the sun, or the start of baseball season, there’s a lot to be happy about this time of year.
The month of May, in particular, is one to celebrate. It’s Older Americans Month, a time when we acknowledge the perennial contributions of older adults to our nation.
Here at St. Ann’s, we recognize those contributions every day. When we say we are Caring for the Most Important People on Earth, we truly mean it. The lives and life stories of our residents remind us of the trails they’ve blazed and the positive impact they have on our lives every day.
Older adults are a growing and increasingly vital part of our country. In 1963, when our nation began observing Older Americans Month, only 17 million Americans had reached their 65th birthday. Today, that population is over 45 million!
Likewise, St. Ann’s Community plays an increasingly vital role. By offering a full spectrum of housing and health care services, we’re working to meet the ever-evolving needs of older adults in greater Rochester. From independent retirement living to assisted living and skilled nursing…from transitional care to adult day services and more…St. Ann’s is committed to helping our seniors live happy, healthy, fulfilling lives.
As you enjoy the beauty of spring, take a moment this month to thank an older adult for the special contributions he or she makes to your life. And if you happen to be an older adult, our hats are off to you! You help make St. Ann’s Community a wonderful place to live, work and volunteer.
