A letter from Carol O’Neal, Senior Development Officer, Donor Relations at St. Ann’s Community.
Created in 2004, the Partner in Philanthropy award recognizes an employee who demonstrates an exceptional level of support for St. Ann’s Community throughout his/her personal and professional commitment to philanthropy.
I’m thrilled to be given the honor of announcing this year’s honoree, who will be recognized at our donor recognition luncheon on May 31st.
Her commitment to and genuine compassion for St. Ann’s seniors has resulted in many gifts from grateful family members. It’s not uncommon for these family members to stay connected to St. Ann’s long after their loved ones have died.
In addition to giving her time and extraordinary talent to our seniors, our honoree donates annually through the Caring Hands Employee Campaign. She is among a committed group of donors who have given consistently for the 12-consectutive years.
A fierce advocate for Adult Day participants, she was instrumental in preparing a recent application to the Greater Rochester Health Foundation that resulted in a grant of $493,000 to support the expansion of the program at the Durand Community Center.
In addition to her many responsibilities at St. Ann’s, she agreed to lead our participation in the local Alzheimer’s Association annual walk. Since taking over, we have seen a dramatic increase in not only dollars raised but more importantly, in participation among all levels of staff. This past year we were awarded first place in both areas – dollars raised and number of walkers.
As an organization, we are so fortunate to have this individual’s commitment and compassion as we continue to build a culture of philanthropy. Her ability to connect mission to purpose allows her to engage all levels of the organization, community and family members to work toward a higher purpose.
Please join me in recognizing Rola O’Meally as our 2018 Partner in Philanthropy.
