Taking Care of Those Who
Take Care of Others

A wise business leader once said, “Take care of your employees, and they will take care of your business.”

At St. Ann’s Community, we put it another way: We take care of the people who take care of “the most important people on earth.”

Our employees are the heart and soul of the work we do caring for more than 1,000 seniors every day. That’s why we make it a priority to invest in them.

Mariama is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in our Wegman Transitional Care Center. She has worked for St. Ann’s for six years and her goal is to become a Registered Nurse (RN).

“I have a passion for nursing,” she says, “and I want to further my education in nursing so I can continue to make a difference in people’s lives.  I hope to become an RN so I can continue to serve St. Ann’s Community.”

To reach that goal, Mariama is pursuing a degree in Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) at MCC as the next step in her education. And St. Ann’s Community is helping her do it.

Each year, through the generosity of donors to St. Ann’s Foundation, we award an average of $30,000 to our employees who, like Mariama, want to advance their education and their careers. This year, 29 people from across our workforce were awarded scholarships.

As another scholarship winner said, “This will greatly reduce the burden of my student loans and allow me to focus on my learning experiences with less worry about money.”

That’s just one way among many that we invest in our employees and support them in reaching their goals. (Find out about others by clicking here.)

We are committed to providing the best care to our residents and patients. That can only be done when our workforce is at its best—feeling fulfilled, supported, and valued in the important work they do every day.
